A message from Judy O’Brien, our Executive Director
It’s raining Cats and Kittens and we need your help! Summer is the time that the Peterborough Humane Society is hit the most financially – cat breeding season! Each day through the summer Pregnant Cats, Kittens with and without their moms are dropped off at the shelter – it becomes a never ending revolving door!
Cat Breeding Season effects the Peterborough Humane Society financially and staff/ volunteers work harder and harder to ensure we are meeting the feline’s needs. These animals receive health checks, vaccines, deworming, food, shelter, water and medical care, when the cats go through the process at the end they are spayed or neutered in order to help stop the overpopulating numbers that exist in our community.Screen Shot 2015-07-29 at 4.35.31 PMScreen Shot 2015-07-29 at 4.35.44 PMScreen Shot 2015-07-29 at 4.35.58 PM
How can you help? Come in and adopt
a Cat or Kitten from the Peterborough Humane Society or donate cash which will allow us to house the animals and provide the necessities including medical care and spaying or neutering. People can also participate in our fundraisers – sign up for our upcoming Dukes Friends for Life Walkathon, get a team together register and collect pledges – all proceeds go toward spaying and neutering the animals at the Peterborough Humane Society.
