The Kawartha Youth Orchestra

Founded in 2002, The Kawartha Youth Orchestra (KYO) give young musicians of the Kawartha Region ages 12-28 the opportunity to learn symphonic music and perform in an orchestral ensemble under the direction of acting conductor Marilyn Chalk.

The Junior Kawartha Youth Orchestra (JKYO), is geared towards young musicians ages 8 and up. There are no auditions necessary but musicians must be able to read music and have some previous experience on their instrument. Marilyn Chalk is the conductor and educator in this enriching and nurturing environment.

The JKYO ‘Farm Team’ is available to beginner musicians or youth with limited musical experience ages 8 and up. Lead by long-time music educator John Fautley and string teacher Rose Loranger, the Farm Team will give your child the basics of music and teach them how to play an instrument of their choice.
